| BLUESTAR® Helpful Hints & Tips First you must keep in mind that blood is easily transferred from one place to another. IE: arrow to hands, leaf to hands, or blood trail to shoes. The knife used to gut an animal years ago, then used to open the package can introduce blood into the mix causing a reaction. Do not handle an arrow, and then handle the tablets or sprayer tube or tip of spray bottle, as this will add blood to the mix and cause a reaction on its own. If this happens wait 15 to 20 minutes to let the mixture burn out or get a different spray bottle and do another mix. BLOOD WILL GLOW ON CONTACT. IF THERE IS A DELAY IN REACTION, THIS IS NOT BLOOD. If the liquid in the spray bottle is glowing there is blood in the mix. · When using BlueStar® look for patterns: BLUE WITH BRIGHT BLUE THAT IS UNBROKEN or A FOGGY OUTLINE WITH BRIGHT BLUE SPOTS WITH IN. Many muscle hits can leave drops with out a misty trail. If the trail glows white and faint, this is trace iron in the woods, not blood. If you do not see blood on the ground it is ok. BLUESTAR® picks up the unseen blood. If there is a question, spray BLUESTAR® where you think there is no possible chance of blood. Some times a group of deer will follow the wounded one, then separate, and after following the wounded animal they will have blood on their hoofs and will spread the blood and cause a false trail. This is easy to figure out because of the pattern of small prints with out the fog outline and usually will appear hoof shaped. I have seen squirrel tracks cross the blood and go up a tree it was easy to tell what had happened and was amusing to say the least. Wounded animals leave an unbroken trail from point of impact to death. The trail looks like a small river if an animal is mortally wounded. IF THERE IS A REACTION, COMPARE IT TO THE TRAIL WHERE YOU STARTED. THIS WILL GIVE YOU A PATTERN TO FOLLOW. This trail appears as a fog with bright droplets with in between 6 inches to 3.5 ft wide. This trail will be wider if there is misting from arterial hits or rain, which will spread the trail. Stay off the trail if possible as you will transfer blood and may make a false trail. Again, this is easy for you to figure out as there will be brakes in the trail and a foot pattern. BLOOD WILL GLOW FOR 2 MINUTES VERY BRIGHT BLUE. You may also dilute BLUESTAR® as the instruction say. Use one (1) set of tablets in four (4) to eight (8) ounces of BLUESTAR®. This product is very powerful and will work with one (1) set of tablets and 16 to 26 ounces. THE AMOUNT DEPENDS ON THE LEVEL OF DARKNESS. This will also save on false reactions and make it easier to tell blood from some of the very few things that also glow. Blood glows longer and bluer than other substances so it is easier to tell. Practice at home before you must use it in the field so you are familiar with the true blue glow of BLUESTAR®. Blood will glow longer and a much brighter blue than other substance so it is easy to tell the difference. Call customer support for BLUESTAR® products with any question at 603-529-2498.
